Robert Anton Wilson

Jan 18, 1932 -

Visionary, humorist, novelist, playwright, poet, popular science writer, libertarian philosopher, magickal adept - Robert Anton Wilson is a man of many parts. He attended Brooklyn Polytechnical college (1952-57) and NYU (1957-58), where he studied electrical engineering before earning his Ph.D. in psychology from Paideia University, California in 1979.

One of the founders of the Institute for the Study of the Human Future, director of the Prometheus Society, a lobby group engaged in promoting scientific research for immortality.  A former editor of Playboy magazine and author of over 20 books, his novel Illuminatus! was adapted into a 10-hour science fiction rock epic and performed under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Great Britain's National Theatre, where Dr Wilson appeared on stage in a special cameo role
